Pros: Thermostat accurate, four heating elements, nonstick surface, extra roasting pan with rack, size.
Cons: Crumbs still fall in the door hinge, surface gets hot.
The Bottom Line: It's accurate and relatively inexpensive. A good work horse for the money and I'd recommend it to anyone.

| lkwells's Full Review: Kenmore KTES8 Toaster Oven |
I've had mine for over a year now and I had to write a review after reading some of the negative reviews. I have had terrible luck finding a toaster that ever worked properly and after the forth one popped my toast into the sink, I decided to check out toaster ovens. The selections were too many to choose from and prices varied greatly but I decided to find something that would serve as a second oven as well in the hot summer months when my kitchen gets too hot to bake. Consumer Reports is my favorite place to check out what has been tested and rated best for features, use, and pricing. I'm on a pretty tight budget so I was pleased to find this toaster oven had been listed as best. I have not been disappointed. We use it everyday and it makes an excellent toaster as well as an oven. I learned than different breads brown at different times (denser bread like sourdoughs take longer and rye takes less). I've cooked small pork loin roasts (2 lbs.), pies (full size), biscuits, cornbread, potatoes and broiled vegetables, chicken breasts and just about anything small enough to fit in it. The thermostat is very accurate and all cooked as well as if I had used them in my regular oven. It held the temperatures perfectly. The outside does get hot but heats my kitchen very little and cooks so well that I can only say it was the best buy I've made in years! The interior has a nonstick surface and it comes with a broiler pan with rack and the crumb tray in the bottom slides out and substitutes as a cookie sheet. The on-off switch works great and the timer is quiet. The alert is a soft bell sound. Although I would have preferred the timer to be longer than 60 minutes it has been great for the money. It was listed for $80 but I got it on sale for $70. Some people were lucky enough to get it cheaper. According to Consumer Reports, it beats out the $200 Cuisinart for performance and costs a lot less. I have recommended it to all my friends.
