Pros: 475 Watts of WOW Power!
Cons: Can't believe they have a bigger one yet!
The Bottom Line: The KitchenAid Epicurean is the Mixer to buy. Think about what you are spending along with the power. Other mixers don't compare. I am in love...

| genestra's Full Review: KitchenAid KT2651X Epicurean 475 Watts Stand Mixer |
The thing that lures me to the KitchenAid mixers is the years that it has performed in my mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers kitchens. Tried and true, they just seem to get better with time. The Epicurean is no exception!
Working in a culinary store, I get a chance to do a little more research on the product than most. I see what comes back, and I hear all the great compliments from the delighted customers, so I had to see for myself.
I chose the 475 Watt. Epicurean over the 500 Watt. custom, because I almost thought it to be a little overkill for what I would be doing. And I really did not want the metallic chrome finish that the Custom offers.
A little about this Epicurious, Epicurean!
Features: Includes a huge 6qt. polished, stainless steel mixing bowl with a comfy handle that makes it a little easier to lift. the bowl has about 30% more capacity than the regular Ultra Power KitchenAid Mixer. It sure makes it easier to push out those double batches of cookies around this house.
Some things that KitchenAid has worked on is the Speed Sensors in the new machines. This is the first to have the re-engineered sensors. This allows a little more speed accuracy when you are mixing. A very cool feature is the overload reset control. This ables the mixer to prevent itself from overheating under high stress. Along with this, a newly redesigned cooling and exhaust fan!! This is why the KitchenAid's last forever. They are built right.
Great features like the Soft Start, allow the mixer to gradually pick up speed and NOT splash the mixing bowl contents on me. There is a new updated pouring shield with a removable chute that helps as well. This machine comes with a flat beater, dough hook and professional wire whip.
Compared to the other KitchenAid models, the Epicurean is really not that much larger when you look at all the great features and capacity that you get. Not to mention the killers wattage!! It measures approx. 11-1/4"W x 14-1/2"D x 16-1/2"H.
By far, this mixer is it for me. I can't seem to find anything bad with it! It comes in great colours that match the rest of the KitchenAid line and it out performs so many other mixers in its class. Not to mention all the great attachements that are available through KitchenAid to make this machine even more versatile.
