coops32's Full Review: iRobot® Verro 100 Above Ground Pool Cleaning ...
iRobot Verro 100 I needed this one!
We have managed to keep our above ground pull set up for over a couple years now it isnt fancy or anything, but the kids love it! They have been using it so much this year, that I decided I needed a better solution than the brushing and skimming I had to do multiple times a day to keep the water clean. In fact, my kids started using the pool so much that even the cleaning I was doing didnt seem to be enough, so I decided I needed a good solution. I already like the iRobot products and appreciate the work they do, so when I realized that there is a whole line of iRobot pool cleaners, I was thrilled!
Why a Verro 100?
The Verro 100 is specifically designed for above ground pools and it is perfectly suited for this job! It cleans the entire bottom of the pool and also all the way up to the waterline and there are no batteries or charging to worry about like with other iRobot working robots. Verro sucks in over 70 gallons of water a minute into its tiny filter and pushes the water all around the pool while doing it. The filter that comes with Verro is a tiny filter and it can collect particles as small as 2 microns. I had no idea what this meant until I read that a period at the end of a standard font sentence is about 500 microns!
Set up and use-
Set up Out of the box, the Verro is pretty easy to put together. The robot is assembled already and ready to go. You plug it in and hold it underwater upside down to get all the air bubbles out of it, then drop it to the bottom of the pool. Turn the switch on at the power supply and the robot begins working right away going back and forth across the pool. It can clean the entire pool in as little as half an hour, but will run for two hours before shutting itself off.
Clean up -
After the pool is clean, Verro should be left in the pool for about twenty minutes to let the motor cool down and then pulled out and lifted by the handle while the water drains out of it. To empty the filter, I turn the robot over upside down and easily unlatch the two little clips and lift the filter out. I pull the filter off and turn it inside out and hose it off for cleaning. It is amazing how much stuff this thing picks up even when I think the pool is clean! According to the manufacturer, it can pick up coins and I believe it because it picked up a few little rocks my daughter decided would be fun to throw in the pool. Storage should be out of the sun and rain for longer life and warranty coverage.
Overall
The pool is clean and I love this robot! I am so thrilled and rarely have to even get out the skimmer. I am running the pump less and the water is obviously cleaner. It makes me feel a lot better about having my kids in it. I think the Verro 100 is a great solution to cleaning a long term larger above ground pool. My sister made fun of me because the Verro cost more than the pool, but I am still thrilled I got it. I recommend it if you want to get serious about keeping your pool clean.
