| ash_'s Full Review: Fisher-Price Deluxe Perfect Support Baby Carrier |
I received the Fisher Price Deluxe Perfect Support Carrier as a baby shower gift. I carefully looked at EVERY baby carrier that Toys R Us had before finally settling on this one, and then adding it to my baby registry.
It's a great carrier when your baby is small, but when your baby starts gaining weight it begins to become more and more uncomfortable. The last time I used this carrier my son was 11 1/2 months old, and boy did it hurt my neck!!
If you have any neck or back problems I urge you not to use this carrier at all, especially with an older, heavier baby.
Unfortunately, my son was born in late October, and the weather gets pretty cold during the winter in NH, so I didn't get to use this much while he was small. In fact, I only got a chance to use this carrier a handful of times. If you live further south where the weather stays mild during the cold months, then this carrier would be a good investment.
I found the carrier fairly easy to put on, and its construction & materials quite sturdy. The first time you attempt to put it on read the instructions very carefully. It's also helpful, but not totally necessary, to have another person present to assist you in putting it on. Once you have the harness on, and adjusted, it does get a little difficult when you have to attach the baby's part to the harness. Especially if you have a wiggling baby. In that case, definitely have someone there to help you. :)
Over all this is a reasonably good carrier... I just hope I will get more use out of it in the future. ;)
