| rachelscloset's Full Review: Baby Trend Caravan Lite LX Standard Stroller |
When I found out I was pregnant for the second time, I realized I would need a twin stroller since my children would be close in age. I needed something that hold both my 22 month old, my newborn in his Evenflo carrier, as well as be able to hold groceries since I often walk to the grocery store. I also wanted something that would maneuver easily and not be cumbersome. I have found most twin strollers to be heavy and hard to steer while pushing.
After reading many articles and recommendations, I settled on the Baby Trend Caravan Lite LX. The main reason was the fact that it adapts to hold many types of baby carriers. It was important to me that I be able to transport my infant safely and securely. I didn’t want to have to put him in his carrier in the car, then take him out of his carrier to put him in a stroller when we were out. This is especially important since newborns tend to sleep a lot. I was also concerned about him being secure in a stroller. I knew he would be snug and secure in his carrier, but his carrier would only fit in his Evenflo stroller. The Caravan Lite LX was the only twin stroller I could find that came with adapter bars that allow baby carriers to snap safely on. This is a great feature.
The other great thing about the Caravan Lite LX is it is light and very maneuverable. I can steer both kids with one had if I need to. It has a smooth, easy ride and does not pull to either side as I have found some double strollers tend to. The Caravan Lite LX has locks on all four wheels, not just the back two.
The Caravan Lite LX does have some disadvantages as well. It is bulky and some might find it hard to fold and store. I am tall and find it easy to fold, easier than my single Evenflo stroller. It is bulky, but that is the nature of double strollers. The other disadvantage is that handle bar is too short. By this I mean that when I have the storage basket down, I am often hitting it with my foot while walking. If the handle bar was longer, I would be further away from the storage space and not be hitting it with my foot.
Overall I must say I love this stroller. I would recommend this stroller to anyone who has two small children less than two years apart. If you want a stroller with all the bells and whistles, this is it! The stroller costs over $200 brand new. I bought mine on Ebay. It was four months old, hardly used, and the seller paid half of the shipping. I saved over $100 by purchasing it this way.
By the way, the spelling in the title is intentional.
