I was lucky when I found the August 1998 issue of Heavy Metal at a Cenex station. They haven't carried it since. I have since subscribed to 3 years of issues.
The magazine is not a childrens magazine, and it isn't a music magazine. It's a sci-fi/fantasy/erotic adult fiction magazine. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Everything about this magazine is cool. Even the ads are cool. Usually, they just advertise their special issues, adult books (usually either Ameriotica or Eurotica) and sell videos ranging from dirty Japanese animated works, to the Troma company (the people that brought us classics like "The Toxic Avenger").
The stories are great, too. They range in story types, and there are a lot of regular guys who contribute their work (like Simon Bisley).
Overall, this magazine is perfect for single guys (like myself) who enjoy sci-fi work.
So, single guys, go out and buy this magazine quickly. You'll thank me later.
