This magazine is the sister publication to Northwest Travel and Oregon Outside. It contains beautiful photographs of the rugged Oregon coast, probably the magazine's best feature. It also features many of Oregon's wonderful lighthouses. Other publications about lighthouses tend to forget that the country has a west coast and will omit or scantily cover our lighthouses. This magazine fulfills that niche.
Like Northwest Travel, this magazine features stories on coastal wildlife and plants. It showcases scenic drives, historical events and locations, favorite restaurants, and attractions. A recent issue published a driving guide for Highway 101 along the coast. The guide included maps, scenic attractions, location of restaurants and hotels, and where to find more information. The guide came in very handy when I took a trip down the Oregon Coast myself. When you subscribe, you will also receive the magazine's annual calendar featuring beautiful pictures of the coast.
Regular features include book reviews, calendar of events, travel planner, and a chambers of commerce list. I personally enjoy the stories about the lighthouses, old covered bridges, and waterfalls.
