| bryanboyer's Full Review: Wallpaper* Magazine |
Wallpaper is a nice magazine when it comes right down to it. Printed on nice stock with large beautiful pictures, the magazine is attractive to look at to say the least.
But the content, the articles some might call them, are usually not so hot. Perhaps not even warm. Actually, don't take my word for it, I haven't really read many of them. I read one or two and decided to never read any again.
Wallpaper is a catalog for me.
Its food is presented on nice plates, its models are presented in nice clothes, and the corners of the magazine are filled with nice goods. Conveniently each item in the magazine is neatly coupled with a description and price. In the back a list of the shops which dispense the cataloged goods can be found.
It's a damn good catalog though. I mean. Damn.
Wallpaper tries to be an aesthetic, but you can pretty much ignore that, don't ever let one source dispense your aesthetic. In fact, don't ever let any source dispense your aesthetic.
ok. No more lecturing. Buy Wallpaper and buy something from its pages. Your apartment is begging you to.
Unlike Nest there are no poodles in this magazine. Or at least I haven;t noticed any.
(I said "at least once a month" below but that's wrong as the magazine comes out only 9 times a year. So while "at least once a month" doesn't quite capture it neither does "3 or 4 times a year."
