cmaw63's Full Review: T-R-O-U-B-L-E by Travis Tritt
This is an oldie you need to go back and re-discover!
Travis Tritt has never really received the recognition he so richly deserves. From hard-working, beer drinking men & women to young couples in love to anyone who can hear music...Travis will have an appeal you can't resist. A non-conforming country artist, with long hair and no cowboy hat, he does things his way.
Travis can sing like no other country singer out there. The variety of music on this CD is a testament to that. If you've never listened to Travis Tritt, T-R-O-U-B-L-E is the CD to start with.
In a rockin' type mood? The title track T-R-O-U-B-L-E will get you moving in your seat. All about a goodlookin' woman walking into a bar a-l-o-n-e. Looking Out for Number One slows down the tempo, but still gets you moving.
Want some downhome working man songs? Lord Have Mercy On the Working Man and Blue Collar Man brings back some of the older country type sounds. These songs bring back thoughts of Merle Haggard and Johnny Paychecks' "Take this job and shove it"
Need something slower to dance with that special someone? When I Touch You, I Wish I Could Go Back Home, A Hundred Years From Now and Worth Every Mile will do the trick...but the crowning slow piece is Can I Trust You With My Heart. Part of the chorus from this song "I don't mind bein' swept away if I know right from the start. So before we go much further girl can I trust you with my heart." were some of the first words my husband ever sang to me. Thankfully, they were, also, some of the last...I love my husband, but the man cannot sing ;)
You think you know blues? Then give Leave My Girl Alone a try. The guitar work, by Travis, in this piece is amazing and his voice even more so. At, almost, 9 minutes long this song will just reel you in for the entire time. I have played it for my friends without telling them who it is...and no one has ever guessed right. Most know him as country, never realizing the full scope of his abilities.
The only thing better than listening to the T-R-O-U-B-L-E CD is seeing him perform the songs in concert, which I had the opportunity to do. The range of these songs and Travis Tritt's voice will have everyone liking something on T-R-O-U-B-L-E.
