One of my favourites this...love "Afro" just because her voice is so effortlessly beautiful. I'm a fan of Jill Scott, Angie Stone and India Arie too but am in 4 minds as to who's voice surpasses the rest? All black divas rock!

I first listened to this album after it's run on the charts and after all the hoopla had settled, just to find out what all the fuss was about, and I must say that I was totally impressed (this coming from someone who is not really into the hip hop/r&b scene). I think this is a recording that will last for years. Thanks for the rehashing...

i know..i LOVE mama's gun although i hvae to think that it is the better of the 2 (they're both 5 star albums though)....if you relate you can relate and if that makes you cry...i can't hate you for that :)

I am so enamored of Mama's Gun, that I put Baduizm in the player last week and remembered just how great it is. I think after rediscovering it, it is definitely still the better album. Appletree and Otherside of the Game made me cry the first time I heard them. No shame, I did.
