Dbbum's Full Review: The Amazing Jeckel Brothers [PA] by Insane Clown P...
ICP:Amazing Jeckel Brothers is the fifth "Jokers Card" in the series which follows the ICP albums. This album focuses on the Jeckel Brothers, Jake & Jack. Jake is the juggler of your love, passions, good doings. Jack is the juggler of hate, terrible, bad. Between the two they juggle your sins, and to many sins will ultimately result in the Jeckel Brother dropping all your sins, which leads to hell. This is the basic idea behind this album.
The main reasoning behind the album is to show more about ICP and the Dark Carnival. Since this is the last Jokers Card before the Dark Carnival comes into town, Since you must learn what is going on and why. After hearing the cd, you will know for sure what evil lurks ahead. Following is a listing of the song titles, a short bit about the song, lyrics, and my rating of the song. Hopefully this will allow you to see what this album has to offer, and whether it sounds like something to purchase or burn in a bonfire.
1. Intro - The stand Jokers Card intrizzo to their albums. The basic conversations just tells us that the next Jokers Card is here, the burning light of "The Amazing Jeckel Brothers.
[Lyrics]: That this magical candle will shed upon your life. Listen uh, I really gotta get goin. Witness my friend, Witness the light, Of the Amazing, Jeckel Brothers!
[Rating]: 2/10
2. Jake Jeckel - This is the first introduction to the Jeckel Brother, meet Jake Jeckel. Jake juggles your kindness, you love, your passion, having less sins to juggle is good. This track is lame, only played once to hear the story of the Brothers. Nothing here to get excited about.
[Lyrics]: Meet one half of the juggling duo, That is your soul I'm talkin about, Uhhh Jake Jeckel, Jeckel another Jake catch one more, They'll try and catch all thats instore for you.
[Rating]: 3/10
3. Bring It On - This song is a total in your face rockish/rappish song to the Brothers. The moral here is to live life with no fear, do whatever you want no matter the consequences. Hence the name, Jake & Jack juggle your sins, and to many bring your death. Great song to slam to.
[Lyrics]: Everybody come jump in our ride, Fit you and your fat a$$ b!tch inside, Wagons, tents are swift as a breeze, Can't nobody get with these, muthafxcka, Bring it on!
[Rating]: 7/10
4. I Want My Sh!t - A great slow song, I usually play this all the time. It's quite strange if you actually listen to the lyrics. Basically Violent J wants 4 simple things in life, and until he them he will never die. Throughout the song we see him die, or so we think, but he outlives each one. Like I said a strange song, but it tends to our thinking that we are immortal.
[Lyrics]: 4 simple things in this b!tch before I die, I want a rusty axe!, I wanna know voodoo!, A fat b!tch named Bridget!, And a little sip of Faygo too, Till I get my sh!t in this, muthafxcka, I will never die!
[Rating]: 8/10
5. B*tches - Another phat song, and it's funny too! Some guy is locked up in jail, while his girl goes around and screws other guys. It's time for her to pay, while he gets sweet revenge. I can totally relate to this song because I too had something similar happen to me. Overall, these "b!tches" just cause way to much trouble, and something needs to be done about it. At the end of this track, we hear a prank call from the Jerky Boys!!
[Lyrics]: Girl you know I love you but now you gotta die, Now ya gotta die, now ya gotta die.
[Rating]: 9/10
6. Terrible - Another good song to make you think, with lots of references to historic occurrences. We always hear about the terrible things, things that give us our drama fix. Nancy Kerrigan's incident went on for months, Micheal Jackon's supposed gay experiences, the OJ trails for a year. This all went on while Oklahoma exploded, the homeless die off, Easy E died. The main point here is you don't know what's terrible. People have warped minds about what it terrible and what's not. There are real issues going on right at home, but yet we worry more about what's on tv and the latest news about public figures we don't even know. I guess the things said here are true to must people, if you see it that way.
[Lyrics]: Yes, though we can't feed the homeless, And then OJ's wack story unfolded, Everybody watched that while Oklahoma exploded, 900 good reasons why this world really don't care, Thats what it costs for a wheel chair!!, What you know bout terrible?
[Rating]: 8/10
7. I Stab People - A rather short song addressed to the juggalos. It seems Violent J has a problem, he enjoys stabbing people! This is a lame song, to short, just tells us he has a problem.
[Lyrics]: I order food just to stab the guy when he gets there, I don't care, I stab anybody anywere, uh uh there!, I stabbed the mailman he was p!ssed, He tried to mace me.
[Rating]: 6/10
8. Another Love Song - The jugglao version of a love song, juggalos style! He could do anything for his girl that he wanted, but he'd rather kill her screwing his homie. I think alot of people could relate to this song!
[Lyrics]: I'd rather cut that neck in half, I'd rather choke out that b!tch a$$, I'd rather chop and never stop, Because you fxcked my homie
[Rating]: 7/10
9. Everybody Rize - Another juggalo hype song, ICP loves to do this on most Jokers Cards. Basically it's just talking about juggalos rising, and those who aren't down need to get the hell out. The lyrics are somewhat repetitive, since the "chorus" is played quite alot. Not a track to listen to if you don't like ICP that much.
[Lyrics]: I hoop the moon through the rings of Saturn, Everybody jumps to the juggalo sound, Fxck outta here if you ain't down with the clown.
[Rating]: 6/10
10. Play With Me - To me this is the sequel to the song "Tox Box" on the Riddlebox album. This is another song about Violent J and his crazy toys. This time the basic idea is that each "toy" is used for a short time, and then left to sit with the other abanded toys. There is more to this song that just the toys!
[Lyrics]: Every year it's more of us and all we do is fill the box, You might play with me at first a couple days a week at tops, Just like your atomic supersonic retro plasma car.
[Rating]: 7/10
11. Jack Jeckel - This is the second introduction to the Jeckel Brother, meet Jack Jeckel. Jack juggles your sins, hate, negatives, and these are bad to have. This track is lame, only played once to hear the story of the Brothers. Nothing here to get excited about
[Lyrics]: Meet the other half of the juggling duo, That is your soul, The Amazing Jack Jeckel!!!!
[Rating]: 3/10
12. F*ck The World - The ultimate dis is anything and everything in the world. This is the best song to play when p!ssed off at everything. I think the count for the F Word is 93 times in this song. If you enjoy that word, or are just plain made at everything, this is a good song to play. The music is the background is a loop, with some random noises and guitar rifts. The vocals are funny if you know what they are talking about.
[Lyrics]: Don't bother to analyze these rhymes, In this song I say fxck 93 times, Fxck the president, Fxck your welfare, Fxck your government, and fxck Fred Bear.
[Rating]: 9/10
13. The Shaggy Show - There's Late Night With David Letter, Conan O'Brian, Jay Lenno, but now there's the Shaggy Show. This show is done in musical form with guests such as Snoop Dogg & Violent J. In between each guest is a short commercial for juggalo products, PhD & Mamma Hot B@stard Bacon Bits.
[Lyrics]: How ya doin today?, Just great Shaggs, Well that's great, Now lets give a hand, To Mike E. Clark and that Gangsta Fun Band!, We'll be right back with Violent J!
[Rating]: 7/10
13. Mad Professor - This is just a story about a freaky scientist who kills people for body parts. I already reviewed this fully on the "Mad Professor" single [http://dbbum.epinions.com/content_39834914436]
[Lyrics]: You can call me mad professor, I will make a friend for me, You can call me mad professor, We will rule eternity.
[Rating]: 7/10
15. Assassins - That's right the wicked clowns are on a killing spree. Just a big song about killing people. The music is fast a furious with some slow parts. For the most part this is a rock themed murderous rampage. This song was widely played at most ICP concerts. Finally, the ending of this track has another prank call from the Jerky Boys!
[Lyrics]: First I tried to choke her, she went for the door, And said, welcome to the disease there's no cure for, B!tch I love you, but now you gotta die, I chased her through the door, but she slammed it in my eye.
[Rating]: 8/10
16. Echo Side - A very slow song, dark and creepy, with a deep plot. This is a song about Damian who dies, and makes it into Echoside. This is a place beyond hell, beyond the shadows, on the other side of time. There is a plot to this story, talking more about Damian.
[Lyrics]: Imagine a place that exists beyond, a place that's seldom seen, A place that even the wickedest souls that burn have never been, There was a soul named Damian he was nothin heaven would save.
[Rating]: 7/10
17. Nothing's Left - Another great ending to another great Jokers Card. This is truly a sad song to the juggalo. It is slow, dreamy and a great song really. The basic idea is that everything has been done, explored, and there's nothing new left in the world! We all hope, and pray that when the wagons come, we are allowed on.
[Lyrics]: There's no road that ain't been traveled, There's no doctor that ain't been baffled, Ain't no thug that never cried, Ain't no preacher that never lied, There's no rumor that ain't been passed.
[Rating]: 10/10
That's about it for the Jeckel Brothers album. As you can see there is alot of references to the ideas and heaven and hell. Although ICP is portraying these two places in a different way, everyone can relate to it somehow. This Dark Carnival theory by ICP can almost be considered another religion if you totally believe in it. But you shouldn't take anything said here to heart. To me this album is the worst yet, with only a good songs. Echoside & Nothings Left are slow songs, which is uncommon for ICP. But I think those are the two songs that really makes this album stand out. Anyways enough of that...
I'd recommend this cd to anyone who wants to follow ICP, or is already doing so. ICP fans MUST have this album, otherwise you are missing out on a major part of your life. Non fans of ICP will probably not enjoy hearing one bit of this album. Be warned this album contains racial slurs, sexual content, violent episodes, and alot of cussing. If you have a twisted sense of humor, this cd may grow on you after awhile, otherwise just forget it.
