atombaum's Full Review: Let It Be by Original Soundtrack/The Beatles
I was 10 years old when my buddy's mother drove us to "Two Guys" department store in 1970. It was the first time I was able to buy LP records with my own money. I had previously purchased Beatles 45RPM records. It was a "luxurious" day because I bought both "Let it Be" and McCartney's first solo album in one go. Both were newly released. Oh, also "Don't Let Me Down" is much better too compared to the original 45RPM version. I liked "Maggie Mae" and "Dig It" on the original but I don't miss them on the remake. All in all, the package seems much tighter without the studio chatter. If you want to hear the studio chatter, you can always rent the movie. The extra CD "Fly on the Wall" doesn't do much for me. I like that sort of thing but I would rather have had a DVD with previously unseen footage from the same sessions. I have heard McCartney called a revisionist, but in this case he made the right move by re-releasing this album in it's "original" form.
