To begin with you have to love Jim Carey. He is truly a character. I was a little let down. I expected the movie to be funnier. Don't get me wrong it was hilarious but that little extra bit would have been great.
To get a feel for the movie you have to know what set him off. At the beginning you see Carrey getting married. Well he starts going off on this black midget and gets his butt whipped. Well she cheats on Carrey with the midget and has triplets. Carrey tries to act like nothing is wrong and finally she leaves him for the midget but leaves the children behind.
For the next few years Carrey raised his boys and was run over by the whole town. The next door neighbor would take his newspaper in the morning for his wife and let his dog poop on Carrey's lawn instead of his own. The town children would not listen to a thing he said and everyone just got to him. So he finally explodes but instead of knowing what he is doing he has another personality that's going to do all of the bad things. That's where Renee Zellweger comes in to the picture.
There have already been enough complaints at the police station about Carrey so the chief is just looking for a way to get him away for a few days. His job is to take Renee back to her home town to face some charges. It all boils down to that her ex boyfriend is trying to kill her. So Renee and Carey stay on the run. Meanwhile Hank(the other personality) shows up randomly and causes many problems. Poor Carrey he looks pretty bad by the time the movie is over. I think it's ok by him because he is in love. This is a big step for him because since his wife left him all he had been doing was raising his boys and working. One thing I know is the movie shows that no matter how different you are the children will be there for you in the end.
Mostly what a lot of people don't realize is that there are people who have split personalities and don't realize everything that they do. The point is don't be one of those people that constantly run over or make fun of a person.
