One word can describe "Charlie's Angels"..an "entertainer"..This is a remake of the popular 1970s television show, with a couple of subtle differences like the originals were little girls and they used guns..these angels work martial art.
Natalie (Cameron Diaz), Dylan (Drew Barrymore) and Alex (Lucy Liu), the three sexy, suave and smart angels work for a man they have never seen. Bosley (Bill Murray)keeps them connected.
This time, the angels have been tasked with intervening the kidnapping of a millionaire (who owns a software company), and how they go about doing it is the meat of the movie.
On performances, Bill Murrray, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu score..but Drew Barrymore is quite a dissappointment. It would help if she didn't get carried away by the fact that she produced the movie, and cast someone more apt like Angelina Jolie (The Bone Collector) or even Rachel Weiss (The Mummy).
Trailers call it a blend of The Matrix and Austin Powers which makes sense. I was wondering how they missed out on The-Matrix-Bullet-Dodging scene.
The lovers have been wasted..(Matt Le Blanc makes a "friendly" appearance, Luke Wilson is obvious as Drew's man..after Home Fries and Never Been kissed, Tom Green is obvious too)
Inspite of loose direction, impressive action scenes, good humor, eye candy (Cameron and Lucy) makes the film worth-watching on the big screen.
