Here we go, another hyped up horror film which totally did not live up to expectations. I went in opening night, after reading the book, hoping to see something really spectacular. The book, mind you, was excellent, possibly one of the best I have ever read, ever. It had an extremely suspenseful plot and a shock/twist ending that you would have never guessed. The movie on the other hand, was a bummer. It loosely followed the plot of the book, and even most of the characters weren't from the book as well. It was a typical 80's slasher film, complete with the "big-breasted girl[s], who can't act, who's always running up the stairs when she should be going out the front door."

I can admit, however, that the ending of the movie was a bit of a puzzle. You kind of know who it is throughout the entire movie, but then at the end, something is thrown at you that really makes you think. This was probably the only good thing about it, despite all of the beautiful women.

My recommendation would be to skip this movie, unless you like scary movies, or happen to like beautiful women. They're not bad actors, the script just didn't seem to be written very well, and there frankly weren't enough scares; I only jumped twice. In the end, the movie would do a lot better if they would have stuck to the plot AND characters in the book. Final word: (as you've probably guesses) Pick up a copy of the book, and skip the movie for a rainy day, if it's really storming out and you have NOTHING better to do.
