Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.
I found this to be a cute comedy. The female lead known as Tula, is supposed to be thirty and unmarried. Except that she looks a minimum of forty-five, so to start off I found her not believable. Also, she was so mousey and unmade up at the start of the movie that I knew the inevitable makeover would occur to transform her. It did occur, but didn't transform her.
The Greek father was the funniest person and most believable in the movie. He played a part that seemed to exaggerate a Greek male head of household, but actually the stereotyping is true. I have known people just like him and they really do think and talk that way.
Tula wants to better herself and change her life, expand her life from the confines of working as a hostess in her family's (what else) Greek restaurant. She does that successfully as she takes a computer course, gets a job in her aunt's travel agency and meets a good looking college professor in the process. The happy ending is a fat Greek wedding.
