yotaruvegeta's Full Review: Kiddy Grade - Vol. 7: Lurking Shadows
Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie''s plot.
With The true Eclair and Lumiere making their grand return with a completely new look, the only question left is about who the imposters really are. If you actually have paid good attention to the voice actors in the series, unlike stupid me, you already know who these two fakes are. Back in volume 5, I did feel that something was very fishy when Eclair took absolutely no mercy on Chief Eclipse and blew her out of her office window. The switch had been made during Elcair and Lumiere's final battles with their fellow ES members. From there, the fakes took over.
The fakes are outed right at the start of "Take/Revenge." Again, when the good guys explain how these fakes were able to copy Eclair and Lumiere's bodies, I don't know why it didn't make total sense to me. I love the match-up, and now I understand why A-ou and Un-ou fought Eclair and Lumiere at the end of a previous volume and not these two.
It's an excellent fight, and even Armblast gets involved. It's Eclair, Lumire, Dextera, Sinestra and Armblast against the two imposters and G.O.T.T. supplied weaponry. We then get our first twist, which I didn't entirely expect. It's no surprise that good triumphs over evil, but what to do with all those clones?
In "Lost/Days," everything is bright and cheery, seemingly back to normal. Suddenly, Lumiere falls ill because there are complications involving her new body. This totally unexpected event leads to flashbacks recalling the entire history of Eclair and Lumiere, from the moment they first met. There was some sort of apocalyptic event, and Eclair discovers Lumiere. From there they meet Eclipse, and their long history begins. This is the most fascinating episode out of them all because the backstory hints at a few things while making other things quite clear. The flashback solidifies why Eclair and Lumiere are such important members of the G.O.T.T.
"Novulesse/Ark" is about the elite human group's plan involving a great space ark called the Deucalian. Chevalier D'Autriche, the G.O.T.T. secretary is involved, as are two characters who have plans of their own. This volume was very entertaining and I cannot wait to see what the G.O.T.T. secretary has planed for the massive Deucalian.
The usual extras are available, and this volume's ES team member dossier is on the characters Eclipse, Mercredi and Armblast.
