| beachguy's Full Review: Padre Island National Seashore |
I visited the North end of PINS 14 times in 2002. A native Floridian, I have come to love the beauty and natural wonders of this Texas national seashore. Much different from the South end (can you say SPRING BREAK PARTY), the North end has miles of beach separated by a few beach goers. There are far more ghost crabs, herons, red billed skimmers, and dolphins than people.
Thusly, the seashore is a perfect site for maintaining the perfect all over tan. Naturalists can easily cover up long before walkers or sea turtle patrol folks come by. The park rangers generally disregard the nudists as long as they are simply sunbathing. Texas law is supportive of nude sunbathing, while prohibiting lewd or aggressive behavior. The law, federal regulation, and the park service policy go hand in hand in providing this wonderful opportunity to those so inclined to enjoy a natural experience.
Pack in everything you need for the day (and pack out everything you bring in) and enjoy PINS "naturally" next year.
