With all due respect...I will not be verbose...however I find the Cambridge Soundworks unit's sound to be notably superior to the Bose Wave Radio and at least as good as the latest Bose Music System. The clarity, bass and treble response are incredible for the size of the unit...let alone the price of the unit. If both the Bose and the Cambridge units went for the same price, I'd still prefer the Cambridge unit...particularly for the better sound. The new Bose Music System (replaces the old Bose Wave Radio) sounds notably better than the old unit, but not better than the Cambridge. In addition, the new Bose can only be controlled by a (losable) remote and still costs substantially more than the Cambridge unit. I really don't even think about the Chinese source...although I do wish that we could produce it in the USA for the same price. With Bose you are paying for an extensive and expensive advertising campaign.

I sold my wave radio for one of these and have not looked back. I have lost a lot of respect for bose corporation. The only reason why the wave radio sounds better to your ears is the humped up frequencies around 7khz. Believe me, I have listened to both back to back, and the soundworks has much clearer highs. This is comming from a person that has quite a bit of music, and am taking a class that teaches you how to listen to the nuances of music. The professor told us all to avoid bose.
