| bfgrd10's Full Review: Canon ES60 Hi-8 Analog Camcorder |
It is amazing how far technology has come when you consider video cameras.
My first camcorder cost about $1000.00 and was huge, the battery life sucked and picture quality was so-so.
Buying a new one was quite a learning experience. The Canon ES60 HI-8 Analog Camcorder that I finally decided on is obviously HI-8 format. If I had the decision to make over again, I would go the extra cost for digital picture. The picture quality is good, but not as much better than the old so-so quality as I thought it would be.
It is very easy to transfer to a regular tape. Just plug in the camcorder, push play and record. The transfer quality on the tapes is good.
I went with a Canon because of their reputation. I am pleased, I just wish I would have made some different choices in options and format. I went for economy and wish I would not have.
I am very happy with the sound quality.
The camera is very easy to use and handle. The settings are preset which is a very nice feature. The settings are accurate. I film a lot of my kid's sporting events and particularly like the auto and sports settings.
The zoom is well positioned especially considering there is no LCD and you must keep one eye closed and one up to the camera. This is another feature I wish I had sprung for.
The battery lasts just a little longer than 130 minutes. This is a lot of shooting time.
This is a good camera for what you pay for it, but if you can spring for the extra options, do.
