I have never been a big fan of gin having tried some cheaper brands but I decided to try Citadelle Gin to be honest I picked it up because the bottle just caught my eye. I was not expecting it to be any better than Beefeaters or Seagrams. Wow was I shocked at the difference Citadelle goes down smooth and was obviously intended to be drinkin straight or in a dry martini.
I have a couple of friends who prefer to drink gin and after I introduced them to Citadelle they both agreed that it is the best gin they have ever tried. I know of no one who has tried it and not found it to be smooth tasting and well worth its price. If you just want to mix the gin with some cola then a slightly cheaper gin will do but for a gin and tonic or martini it has to be Citadelle Gin.
I would recommend to anyone who drinks gin martinis to try Citadelle you don't even have to bother with the Vermouth just get a couple of those martini olives and put them in the glass its that good!
The French came out with Grey Goose Vodka and now Citadelle Gin. Say what you will about the French they obviously know how to make good drinks.
