6 months ago: I had an old 9GB IBM (8MB buffer) Deskstar hdd with my PIII-450 (overclocked to 558mhz) and 256MB of ram. But it crawled so bad when i upgraded to WinXP pro that i had to revert it back to Win98se. I decided i wanted to use XP for good so i went out and bought the WD800JB and wow, it flies! Today:I'm planning on building a P4 2.53 system in the near future and i'm definitely bringing this hard drive with me. I'm even thinking about buying a twin and using a RAID 0 configuration. The hard drive is relatively cheap ($108), super fast, and definitely reliable in all configurations. I WAS a big IBM hdd fan a few years back, but now i'm on the WD bandwagon. If you need a new hdd, go buy the WD 800JB today.
