Pros: works like a thumb drive, built in voice recorder, FM radio & equalizer, great sound
Cons: No OGG support, so so quality headphone, tiny display.
The Bottom Line: Go get it, resumes playing where it stopped. Also great for gym & audiobooks, sound quality is superb after replacing headphones.

| quepeter's Full Review: Creative Technology Nomad MuVo TX FM (1 GB) MP3 Pl... |
It's now 3 months since I had this. It was given to me as a gift.
What's good about it?
The entire unit is as big as a Zippo lighter. It separates into 2 parts, the battery pack which contains 1 AAA battery. I use 800ma Sanyo NIMH rechargeable batteries. Battery life is quite good.
The player itself then becomes a thumb drive which you can plug directly into your PC's USB 2.0 port. It is immediately recognized as a removable drive. You need to install a driver for anything older than Windows XP.
Driver, software to RIP CD's and user manual is included on supplied CD.
Display can be set for left or right handed people. In short, you can flip the words 180 degrees which is great!
The firmware is upgradeable. Just download the latest from creative's website and install. However, doing this will erase the contents of your player so backup before you upgrade your firmware.
Has a 5 band equalizer which I love to play with. I rarely use the presets since headphones react differently. It's best to tweak with the equalizer settings. I would say that the sound is extremely good.
Everything is drag and drop. It recognizes MP3 and WMA files and will skip everything else when playing. Voice and FM radio is recorded as a WAV file saved on a separate directory.
What's bad about it?
The thing plays everything in alphabetical order so keep this in mind when you arrange your songs from the folders to the sub folders. It only supports one folder and 1 sub folder. Beyond that is not recognized.
Display shows minimum information, time elapsed, title of song and your equalizer setting when playing MP3's. So everything you need to know must be on the ID Tag title. If you want to show that it's 128K, who the artist is, include that with the ID Tag of the song. Note that the ID Tag is different from the filename. Things such as winamp can change this.
Would love to be able to have something like a playlist feature where I can skip certain songs without deleting them.
Bass boost would be a good additonal feature, I find that the Bass is a bit weak compared to my MPIO FY400.
Does not support OGG. I just downloaded the latest firmware 1.13.03 and it still does not have OGG support.
Supplied headphones sound FLAT! I replaced them with sony but the shure E3C is my current favorite. The sound is fantastic with the E3c. I recommend you ditch the headphones and get better ones.
Records FM radio but isn't high quality, would have been nice if it were something like 128 bit. Output is a .wav file. Great for talk shows but not for music.
Playing an MP3 song, elapsed time is shown but no option for remaining time. It also has problems displaying time of some files that's over 1 hour, things like talk shows. I don't think it's creative's problem since I have others that are over 2 hours and the display is fine.
Recommendations
Overall, this is good stuff for your bucks, not the best in features because my more expensive MPIO has more. Well, it's good enough, everything I need is there for the low tag price. I wish creative would added more features. A few things might come with future firmware upgrades. I have already written them and asked for added features like BASS BOOST, Total time of the MP3 file being played.
