Pros: Just as powerful and quick as a regular-sized computer.
Cons: Very limited when adding hardware (due to chassis size and configuration). PS Dell sucks.
The Bottom Line: Only if you get everything you need, right out of the box. Dell is NO HELP, and 4600C's size is very limiting which, for me, makes this a bad investment.

| arunions's Full Review: Dell Dimension 4600C (D46CRS) PC Desktop |
My Dell 4600C was bought refurbished from Dell.com and is a decent machine. Great value. However, the specs supplied by Dell.com were incomplete, and when it arrived, I was dismayed to learn that it did not have any IEEE 1394 ports. I had bought it in order to work with digital video media, and you really need a FireWire connection. Knowing that these kinds of ports can be bought and added to computers fairly easily, I went to Dell customer support.
My next month was a nightmare of long, frustrating conversations will countless representatives tragically employed by Dell in foreign countries to handle their U.S. customer's needs. They did not understand the fact that the 4600C chassis is compact, and is not compatible with standard-sized PCI cards. Otherwise I would have gone to a computer store down the street. After a few failed attempts by Dell, they finally sent me the right kind of card, but with other extra parts, badly configures ribbon cords, and no directions. It took me a week and a whole lot of favors from my company's IT department to figure it all out, since Dell's technical support is a JOKE.
Do yourself a favor and buy a regular-sized desktop, so that you can just go to the stupid store and buy a part if you need one. And buy it from a company who cares enough to talk to you face-to-face.
