The Bottom Line: The other DVRs simply cannot compare to the features TiVo offers. Season Passes, Home Media Option, and now TiVo-to-go keep TiVo on top.

I then bought a TiVo Series 2 in May 2003 and another TiVo Series 2 in January 2004. It is amazing how much improvement could be made on a product that was already fantastic!
I love being able to transfer shows between the TiVos! No longer am I shackled to one room for watching television!
When my family was here to visit recently and wanted to share some digital photos with everyone, I just copied them to my PC's hard drive and played them as a slideshow on the television! The pictures fit the television screen with amazing picture quality! And even better was the fact that 7 people didn't have to crowd around my PC monitor to view the photos!
TiVo actually DECREASED my cost last year! I am now paying half the monthly service fee I used to, and new TiVo owners no longer pay extra for the Home Media option, which allows photo and music sharing from PC to TiVos.
While I was visiting my mother out of state, a preview came on television for something I wanted to see. I just used her computer, went to TiVo's website, and set the recording online! When I returned home, TiVo had recorded the program!
I recommend a TiVo for every television in the house, and unless you like to store a lot of shows permanently, I wouldn't recommend getting anything bigger than the 80-hour TiVo. Having multiple TiVos gives you the recording space you need, but lets you record conflicting shows, and gives you TiVo functionality on each television.
