| tdrolet's Full Review: Gateway 600X (600xb) PC Notebook |
I purchased this unit with a few changes to the base configuration. Processor speed of 2.6 ghz, upgraded ram to 1 gig and hard drive to 60gigs, XP Professional and Office Professional. The burner speed for a laptop is right there with my prior desktop unit. This is my sole work system and has served me very well! Just as my older P3 900 Solo 5350. Video quality is comparable to the others and speed has not been an issue even with the load that I put it under. From Office applications to heavy data extractions, this laptop has meet my expectations and in many cases has exceeded them as well.
I have purchased dozens of laptops from Gateway and not one has let me or the user down yet. Their service after the sell has been second to none! Bottom line is, there are brands and models that you can spend less on and there are those that you can spend more on. This unit has proven to give me the bang for the buck that I need to get my job done.
