| jleboeuf99's Full Review: Gateway M520 XL PC Notebook |
I have had this computer for 8 months and It's already in the shop to be fixed, I called Gateway and they gave me the run around, on top of being rude, I have never been treated so hateful on the phone. I have a Compaq Presario and get better service than on this Gateway. I bought this computer from Ebay and bought an extra warrenty from Ebay and decided to let them fix it (the on/off button stuck, rendering the computer useless). I am due to get my computer back tomorrow, I would highly recommend letting someone other than Gateway touch your computer, you may never see it again if you send it to them. Over all the computer works ok, but it does have its glitches, one problem after another with Windows etc..I had to pay the Geek Squad to come out and get the built in wireless card configured to find my home network (forget about having Gateway help you over the phone) The Tech said Gateway Notebooks are a cuss to work on and they put all types of little glitches on them which on a normal Dell, HP, Sony would work right out of the box, but not on Gateway, I have not been that impressed with Gateway and will never buy another product of theirs, unless I get a real good deal on Ebay and have someone else warrenty and work on it.
