Pros: Pleasant desk staff, nice lobby
Cons: spiders, dust, spiders, no heat, spiders
The Bottom Line: The 2006 updates may have helped this hotel, but, with so many options in the area, why take a chance?

| cmaw63's Full Review: Ramada Inn Zorn |
Looking for a reasonably priced, clean hotel while visiting Louisville? Well, keep looking. They got the reasonably priced right, too bad the clean part didn't work out.
Walking into the lobby I was impressed with the spaciousness, decor and that it had a restaurant/lounge located adjacent to it. The desk clerks were friendly, pleasant and got me checked in within seconds. I had made reservations online thru the Ramada website, for $68/night plus tax, so all I needed to do was give her my name, fill out the required card info and was on my way.
We were placed across a rather large open courtyard, away from the lobby in a first floor room. When we opened the door to our 2 double beds room it was dark inside. I flipped on the light next to the door and went to turn on the lights between the beds. I felt something brush my hand as I turned on the lights. There was a rather large spider web connected between the lights, complete with spider. I can't say the size of the spider, as EVERY spider is big to me. My mother had to knock the web down and dispose of the spider as I was to busy doing my "OMG it's a spider" dance.
The room was a moderate size containing our 2 double beds, dresser with tv sitting on it, a small table with 2 chairs and lots of dust. While the dresser and table were dust free, the lampshades, window sill and other places that would've taken a little extra time had enough to make up for it. We decide since it was only a one night stay and we were tired, we would make do.
Mom wanted ice, so I called the lobby to see where an ice machine is, since I've already looked around outside and couldn't find one. The only ice machine is located in the lobby. I traipsed across the open courtyard and noticed that there was an outdoor pool. It was fenced in and locked. It was, also, drained as it was winter.
I get back to the room and notice that it is almost as chilly inside as it is outside. Mom had turned up the in-room thermostat, so we waited for it to do it's magic and warm the room. A half hour later, with mom in the bathroom running the heat in there to keep warm, I called the front desk and let them know we needed someone to fix the heat in our room. I was told there was a banquet/meeting going on, someone would be there as soon as possible.
We did become very familiar with the bathroom over the next hour as it did have working heat. It was of medium size with sink, toilet and full bath/shower. There was good lighting and plenty of towels and washcloths. It, too, appeared to be clean, until you started looking in the corners and up at the ceiling.
After an hour waiting for someone to come fix the heat, I called the front desk back. I was informed, yet again,of the banquet going on and was not given any approximate time someone would be able to help us.
At this time, Mom and I decided, we had enough. We gathered our luggage and went to check out. At the front desk the young woman was pleasant and we did not become angry over it all...just stated why we were no longer going to stay there. Anyone watching would've thought we were just having a pleasant chat. We were never offered another room nor did we ask for one. I was impressed that the charge to my credit card was taken off the very next day.
Other amenities listed, that we weren't there long enough to check out are the restaurant/lounge, games/video room, highspeed wireless internet, fax/copy/business services and free continental breakfast.
I noticed on their website, today, that they remodeled, sometime, in 2006. Even so, in my opinion, if the same cleaning staff are there, the remodeling dust isn't going away anytime soon.
