Finally! Someone has done it..
a wireless keyboard, no infra red line of sight problems, with good tactical feedback on the keys and a nice look fell to the whole set up.
With keys like sleep mode and volume for cd playing, and simple internet related keys ( get email, home ect.. ) the iTouch is my latest tech tool in my arsenal of Logitech products. I do not know what the boys up there in Logitech eat for breakfast, but my thinking is Wheaties, so often there products install without a hitch, and work flawlessly. Though my computer room is snug ( read small ) I use the keyboard from a distance about 6 feet away with my back turned to the monitor ( just to see how well it works without a clean line of sight to the receiver ), and sure enough it works great. My only complaint is the CAPS LOCK key, I am used to seeing a light come one on normal keyboards, I realize doing this on a wireless would have meant a small LED which would consumed precious battery power ( only 2 AA batteries are used ), so in exchange Logitech has a status on the System Tray ( next to the clock under Windows 95/98 ) which displays the status if you are in CAPS LOCK mode or not. Though in all reality I do not really pay attention to it at all ( My Logitech Iforce Feedback USB Steering Wheel is hooked up ATM and so it does break my line of sight of the monitor somewhat.. ).
One thing I do like about Logitech, the styling department get high marks, who ever they are, as they must have taken some good design lessons from The Porsche Group. I wish they would design and make generic ATX cases too as it would all look so nice.
I disregarded Logitech's advice and set my receiver within 3 feet of my monitor ( something the install booklet says not to do ), but it has not affected the receiver ( could it be that the Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 991TXM monitor has low low EMF emissions ?? ).
My only complaint come from tech support, I am not a fan of going through a Gestappo like interface just ot ask a simple question, I understand tech support is getting expensive now a days but they are getting ridiculous.
My next trick is to see if i can run 2 of these keyboards side by side as I want another one for my Internet rig, but Logitech was kind of vague on if I could or could not run 2 iTouch Wireless keyboards side by side without interference.
and Update will be set on this review when I get my second iTouch ( if i do get interference due to cross talk between keyboards, my buddy will get this keyboard for free.. ) and se how 2 work side by side.

*** UPDATE ***
Yes you can have your cake and eat it too, as you can have 2 of they wunderkind keyboards in close proximity and have no cross talk, in fact both of my set up are within 3 feet of each other and close to the monitors as well. Logitech in it's wisdom figured there would be people like me and thus the recievers will channel hop in case of another wireless device.
But....
you knew something had to give and thus it did, one of my keyboards just up and died on me, for no apparant reason. I tried new batteries ( they do last a suprisingly long time ) but no go, so I am back to a chorded keyboard ( and that is what I was trying exaclty to avoid ). But I do got my Logitech Optical Chordless mouse up and running so I am somewhat happy, I would just like both keyboards and the mouse alive and well.
