Re: Great Review (Reply to this comment)

Actually, I had hoped the Sony Alpha 700 would be the true 7D follow-on. Alas, it surely is not. Supposedly there is a nicer Sony in the works. But to tell where I have gotten to, if that one is a dud as well, the camera to migrate to is the Nikon D300. And Nikon will have a true successor to that platform.

Great Review (Reply to this comment)
by theodorejay
Sadly Minolta 7D came out with only 6 megapixels & technology is quickly making it weak for just that point. Sony has several newer options but they have cheapened the controls & made the newer Sony version allot harder to operate.
I find if I practice real good lighting techniques and hold the 7D camera body real steady the picture resolution is very accurate & detailed (i.e. every eye brow hair is visible on a face shot even from far back & facial flaws show up as well, good argument for models using make-up).
However, if I ever happen to want to blow-up to poster size work I'm doubting this camera will cut it in terms of resolution. So I'm patiently waiting for Sony to come up with a more professional version of the 7D or sadly go with a totally new set of lenses.
Thanks again for your insightful review.
