Pros: nice well built,quality notebook.
Cons: a little on the heavy side,cd tray is a little flimsy.
The Bottom Line: this is a nice notebook, it was put together well,the price is outstanding, and i am sure it will have it for quite sometime.

If dell is looking to win over market share in the computer business, I think they are doing a great job, one pc at a time.
I was looking for a laptop computer something I could write a few memos on the fly, check my email offline, keep a few digital photos, or watch a dvd if I am stuck at a airport, or on a long flight.
Surfing around the web I stopped by the dell website as they were having a sale on laptop computers, and I found one, the price was great $800.00 for a well equipped laptop, wow it was less than 3 years ago that a laptop would set you back over $2000.00, so I ordered my laptop from the ala carte menu and in few days it was on my door step.
I have the inspiron 1100 and first off this puppy is pretty heavy, but right out of the box I like this laptop, it has a nice well built feel, the blue and silver two tone color is catchy, and it came with all the backup program cd’s cords, and manuals detailing all you need to know about this laptop.
This laptop have a 2 gig hertz Intel celeron processor a 20 gig hard drive, 256 megabytes of ram, and runs the windows xp operating system.
Software included, or that I like rather are
6 months AOL or earth link total access
Music match duke box, I love this thing it is easy to use, has a nifty interface and is packed with cool features.
It also has Microsoft quicken
Dell picture studio, another nice piece for software for managing, editing your picture collection.
Real player, but this is an old edition ,an It constantly nags me to update it.
One of the real reasons I bought this laptop is so I could enjoy a DVD, and the intervideo dvd software supplied with this machine is quite adequate to say the least, it also plays dvd-r, a added plus, the interface is easy to use it has a nice search, bookmark functions, everything is well marked, or just hold the cursor over the button and it tell you what the button’s are for.
The lcd viewing screen is quite adequate for my purposes wither writing a email, using the offline browser, or viewing a dvd, I find the picture quality is good and I have had no issues, this is the first laptop I have ever owned, and I like it, I have had it for a few months and everything works as it is supposed to, and that is what the consumer is looking for.
Although I cannot compare this to another laptop as i have only owned this one, I feel more than satisfied with product, it is well built, it comes with great software, and the price is outstanding, a nice piece of hardware for a great price.
