Pros: Large screen, nice layout, solidly constructed
Cons: The monitor hurts my eyes, lack of USB 2.0
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a good reasonably-priced laptop, this is the way to go! Just make sure the screen won't hurt your eyes.

I'm not really sure what to say, except that I am totally pleased with this laptop. Its 17" screen is a wonderful size (at least, compared to my previous laptop's 12" screen) and it's bright and clear, its 30 GB HD is sufficient (though it will fill up quickly if you're into downloading media), and Windows XP (I upgraded from W98) is excellent (I love visual styles!). It has a CD-RW drive that's also a DVD-ROM (meaning non-recordable). The keyboard is very comfortable. The touchpad is taking time to get used to, but it's designed well. (I almost always use an optical mouse anyway.) It has 3 USB ports, which is great, but there is no USB 2.0 port, which makes getting an external DVD-R drive little more than a dream. All in all, this is a wonderful medium-of-the-line laptop that I can highly recommend.
UPDATE: I've found that this screen hurts my eyes. I don't know if it's just me or not, though.
