| dinquz's Full Review: Abit BE6-II Motherboard |
The Abit BE6-II is a great motherboard for not only expirenced computer users such as overclockers, its a great board for beginners learning to make computers. I used the motherboard to build my first computer and it was quite simple to use. The manual was clear which is a real plus for those beginning to build their very own personal computer. Overclockers will also enjoy this board as well, because not only can you change the multiplier from x2-x8 in x.5 increments you can also change the Front Side Bus(FSB) from 66-200MHZ in 1MHZ increments. The motherboard also comes with instructions on how to overclock. So this i great for newbies.
This motherboard supports almost all the new technology. It supports the IntelPentium 3 from 450-700MHZ, although this older version can not reach 1GHZ the newer BE6-II can. The board accepts up to 768MBS of PC100 which is more then enough for the home/common user. The motherboard is compatible with all the latest video cards, it supports AGP 2x and 4x cards. It has 1 2x/4x AGP slot, 5 PCI slots and an ISA slot which you probably won't be using. It has 2 USB ports, 2 Serial ports, a parallel and a floppy port. It also supports PS/2 keyboards and mice so you dont have to waste usb ports for these. This board also supports the UDMA 33/66 devices. This is great because it means faster data transfers for your hard drive.
