I recently bought this motherboard as the base for my newly built system. The best part about this motherboard is the ease of setup as the jumper settings are done with software as compared to hardware settings. If you've never built your own system and are planning to, this is the motherboard to use. The user manual is great as it explains everything you need to know. All the settings in the software to setup the motherboard are thoroughly explained in the manual so your questions are minimized as to meanings of specific options. Second, this motherboard is extremely upgradable. With 6 PCI slots (and 1 ISA just in case), 4 DIMM slots, up to 8 IDE devices, and an AGP slot (leaving a PCI slot open for other hardware than video cards), there seems to be a never-ending supply of plug-ins for hardware. Not only are there 4 DIMM slots, this motherboard supports 512MB RAM having the ability to support 2GB of RAM! And for all those network people out there, wake on modem and wake on LAN for accessing your files from another computer make this easily available. With no built-in audio or video, you are free to choose from all possibilities the audio and video hardware you wish keeping you in control of all aspects of your new system. Having shopped for weeks to find the perfect system components for my system, I strongly recommend this motherboard for everyone from the beginner to the high-tech "have everything" computer nut.
