The first time I bought this CD, "My Freedom" I had never heard of Lisa Bevill. I had just been searching for another female Christian artist other than Amy Grant.
I was in my church bookstore (Calvary Chapel Golden Springs), when I came across this CD, "My Freedom". The singer, Lisa Bevill, looked so cute on the jacket cover so I turned it over to see some of the songs. Since at that time, a buyer could not listen to the CD before buying it had to take it home and listen to it.
Well, I loved it. When I moved up to NorCal, I must have left the CD in my parents CD Player. So, a year ago I got a signed autograph copy from Lisa Bevill and told her how these songs were so touching and have always helped me when I was down or in need of some loving words.
The song that gives me great joy would have to be the song, "My Freedom"; the title of the CD. The song talks about how Lisa was a self made girl, or better yet a worldly woman until she gave her life over to Jesus. She talks about how Jesus could have only given her the freedoms she now has.
Then there is the song, "I Took a Tumble", which talks about how she used to be a snob and obnoxious person before she dedicated her life to Christ. She talks about tumbling on her face which put her back in her place and made her humble. Very good song and something we all go through at times. Stumbling in order to make us humble. Humble for Christ that is.
One of my other favorite songs on this CD is titled, ""It's Gonna be worth it" which talks about temptation and saving yourself for marriage. About staying pure in the eyes of our Father and being pure for your husband. It talks about how God gave us this law to protect us, not stifle us.
In sum, all the songs on this CD will hit a cord with anyone who buys it.
