Pros: Palm OS 5, would not recommend it due to the battery life
Cons: Battery life is very bad

When this model came out i wrote, Its an amazing value. Feature and quality wise this Palm has what I have been waiting for for 7 months. Well i have changed my mind. The battery on my mine is terrible. I am always affaid to use it as the battery drains down so fast . Also the battery is no user replacable , and the more you charge it over time the weaker it will get.
I bought a car charger from Palm , and it is next to useless. I charges at such a slowrate .
I would not now highly recommend this Palm. I thought when it came out that it was good value for the money. I dont belive so now.
You will understand my love for this Palm when you understand my philsophy for buying electronics. Most of the technical specifications have been dealt with in other reviews so i will not go in to that to much .
My philosophy of buying electronics has evolved over the years. I always used to try the buy the best quality product with the most features, My view that you get what you pay for, and in the long run the extra money spent would be worth it, because the product would last longer, and i would not need to upgrade it so quickly . Recently my thinking has changed. I realize now that i am not buying a product like this palm thinking that i need to have it last more that 3 years. I dont expect it to have every bell and whistle. Thats fine with me because , developments and changes happen so rapidly now with electronics , and new standards and uses are developing so rapidliy. I want to replace these things . I would rather buy something functional and well made that is in the middle of the product spectrum , and replace it in a year or two when the techonology such as Bluetooh or Wifi has been perfected, and the price for units with these new technologies , is half of what it is today. So the bottom line is this Palm does everything i need it to do very very well right now, and i wont be upset when i replace it in 2-3 years with something that will be alot better.
The great things about this unit are: Palm OS5, the display , the size and weight, the software, that fact that it accepts SD expansion cards which at this point are alot better priced and more effienient that the competing Memory stick product.
Alot of people have complained about the lack of the Palm Universal connector , and the included USB connection.
I have not found this to be a problem. I think that the USB connector works well and is actually easiier if you are connecting to notebook computers or other devises. The charger is very handy to , it is easier to move around that the old craddel was. I can take it with me very easily , and move it around. I wont argue that it would not be a good to have the Palm Universal conector built in , but for me it was not worth paying an extra $100 or more for it. This works just fine
