Pros: Nice included headphones, Great anti-skip program, Nice radio, Reads cd's that have been severely scratched.
Cons: Undurable, Buttons react to the slightest of movement, Volume sucks, Exterior scratches so easily.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this cd player to an extremely gentle and graceful person because if you aren't, prepare to have you're cd player shattered.

| breaking_amber's Full Review: Panasonic SL-SV550 Personal CD Player |
I received this CD player for my birthday. I saw it, looked at it and about drooled after opening it. Shiny buttons, silver exterior, and it even said MP3 player on it! What more could I ask for? After two years of usage, A LOT.
DESIGN
A few days after owning the CD player, The paint started to ware off. I have an annoying scratch right by the S-XBS button and it ticks me off to look at it. The silver on the S-XBS, Memory/recall, FM Mode mono/ST, and FM reception buttons has been worn down as well. I am no biker; I carry this item with me to school and occasionally, if it's lucky, will travel in my soft canvas bag.
DURABILITY
After six months of owning this product, I dropped it on my soft linoleum floor and the piece that you slide to open the cd play popped right off. I found the piece, slid it back in, and was ok for about 3 weeks. I dropped it AGAIN on my kitchen floor, (which is soft linoleum as well, thank you), and the same part flew out and so did another part of the interior. My friend had the same problem, he was roller blading and the thing FLEW out of his hands and SHATTERED into, to what he says, A "million pieces". The durability of this CD player would be rated, in my opinion, a 4 out of 10.
RECEPTION/SOUND QUALITY
The reception for the radio, is to my suprise, very good. I'm able to travel at least 100 miles out of the frequency of my favorite station and I'll still get a nice sound. The headphones, which are included, are very nice. I thought the sound was going to suck at first but I didn't plug the jack in all the way. The volume is loud, but not to where I like it. The headphones, if turned up all the way, can be heard from around the house, which I find ANNOYING because if I have it on 15, I get lectured on how loud music is bad for young ears. This doesn't really pertain to the sound quality, but the cord of the headphones curls up A LOT and will tangle at the slightest movement.
OVERALL OPINION
When I first showed off my new headphones the week after my birthday, everybody was jealous. They loved the shiny buttons, and how it had a CD player AND a radio all built in one. I was happy for about 5 months of usage. If you're an active person don't be perceived by this piece of junk. It'll break as soon as you say, "Jog through the park".
