Please correct your review. This unit records DVD+R or +RW disks, NOT -R or -RW. Thanks.

Is the price right? (Reply to this comment)

After reading your review, I was impressed. But, what really impressed me was the price you paid for the unit. Where can I find this unit for $399.00?

I answered some of these questions in the review...
Yes, it has TV guide type programming. I'm not sure if you have to finalize the recording sessions everytime or not (only recorded 3 dvds). The recording quality is great, and decent when comes to VHS.
Hope that helps.

Hmmm.... (Reply to this comment)
by aashok
I've been looking for a DVD recorder for some time. This seems like an excellent unit, however I have some questions:
- How easy was it to record a program from TV?
- Does it have any VCR+ or TV guide type programming?
- Does each disc have to be finalized after each recording, or can you have multiple sessions?
- How did generic DVDr discs perform?
- How good was the quality of recorded video? How does it compare to VHS?
- Can you record to DVDr from a video camera or another VCR?
- Were the on-screen menus intuitive and easy to follow?
Thanks,
AA

I've been wondering whether or not these were everything they're cracked up to be. Too bad they're still so damn expensive, eh?
Cheers Bob,
