| kitt's Full Review: Vtech VT 1920 900 MHz - Cordless Phone |
When my husband and I decided we wanted a new phone for upstairs we looked at many designs with many features. This one had the most features for the lowest price. We paid $50.00 for this phone at BJ's Wholesale. (We even got a $20 rebate on it) We knew we wanted a cordless phone, having a 20 month old toddler you can't be tied done to a call. We also knew that having one that had 900MHz would give the phone better sound quality. (and It does) But, the rest of the features were a bonus.
The caller Id and call waiting are built into the handset. There is a small window on the top that you can read very clearly and in bold print. When you have a call on the other line the new callers name will appear in the window even with the other caller on the line. Then you can decide whether or not you want to click over to the other line or let the answering machine pick it up. *To use the caller Id feature you must subribe to it through your local telephone company. We have mediaone phone service and it's automatically on your local service.
It has the regular telephone features numbers 0-9, pound, hold, flash, mute, & redial. But, it has so much more.
I love that it stores 20 numbers on the speed dial. That way I can have all my emergency numbers as well as family and friends. To store a number you simply - with the phone on off - enter the phone number, press program location button on the handset (prog) and then enter the number that you wish to put it under. It will play a little music for a second to let you know it's done. When you want to call that number, press the on button, press memory, and the speed dial number you put it under. Really simple.(even for me)
Other neat features are that the antenna extends, so you don't have a big antenna sticking out of your handset when it's in the base. (We saw other phones with very big bulky antenna that you could not push into the handset) The base is very small and slender, I have it on the end of my bedroom nightstand.(and there is plenty of room) It's also great if I need to make a call at night and don't want to turn on a bright light, when you press any button on the phone it lights up the window at the top. You can also press any key to answer an incoming phone call, no fumbling for the on button.
Extras that this phone came with : wall mounting bracket, belt clip & AC power adaptor. (It also came with 1 battery pack, telephone line cord, the handset & the base.)
This is a great phone, very durable & solid, but not to heavy. I would Highly Recommend it to you.
