Pros: Ease of use, size, convenience, run by a single double A battery
Cons: A flash card purchase is probably essential for better access to downloading music: especially when you have eclectic tastes

I have seen a few reviews of this product, but only recently got my hands on one. I had been waiting for the prices to drop, and maybe could have waited a little longer. But, for the money I have to admit I like the little gadget!
I have to weigh advantages on a pretty personal level; I do not profess to be an expert in sound systems. The advantages, quite simply are these:
1) You don't have to be a rocket scientist to operate it
2) The volume of music free on the net is pretty amazing, as well as the variety
3) The music sounds better on the player than through my computer, which right now is limited to my laptop
4) It is lightweight and can be taken anywhere
5) It is not a high dollar item that will attract muggers as quickly as a more expensive brand
6) I am seriously contemplating buying one for my 77 year old mother, so we can listen to different music in the same house
7) No one had to show me how to use it!!!
The disadvantages are these:
1) The time downloading the original music to your own system takes time, depending on the speed of your ISP. If you live in a technologically backward area, this can take some time
2) The supplied memory, while impressive, is not really enough to last the day, and/or night
3) Power supply is battery only, where an adapter might occasionally be useful.
4) I have been warned by the memory police about cluttering my hard drive.
5) I would appreciate paying even less for this thing, although I think it was worth it.
So, all in all, since I am of a different generation than most technical whizzes, I appreciate the handiness of this little gadget. I mean, I LIKE IT.
