I bought the Epson Stylus Color 740i to complement my iMac (even bought the same grape cover for it) and for my purposes, have found this printer to be excellent. While it does not excel in any one specific area, it does a great job of all-around printing.
Before using this printer, I was hard-pressed to get a printer to print good-quality photographs, but this one certainly does the job. I have never had the annoying and frustrating incident of streaks through my papers, and it always warns me in plenty of time when to change the ink cartridges.
Now, lest you think that I have nothing but praises to sing for this little machine, I will say that it is a bit slow when first turned on and takes a while to shut itself down. There is a great deal of the head moving back and forth, but other than that, I have found this printer to be a great complement to my iMac and fulfills my printing needs. So, if you are in need of a simple to operate printer for general use, this is definitely one to consider.
