The Bottom Line: This printer is a great value. For under $200 I think you'll be surprised by just how good the photos come out, I know I was.

I received a digital camera for Christmas and had been looking for a photo printer. My wife gave me the HP 1115 for fathers day, and I just love it.
The printer allows you to take the smartmedia card from your camera, place it into a slot in the printer and create photos without using your computer. The printer will produce an index page with thumbnails of all the pictures on the smartcard. It is then very easy to select and print the pics you want. The LCD read out display is very intuitive and walks you through the process.
The HP photo software is also very easy to use for images already on your hard drive. Using the photo album feature, we've had fun creating a photo pages. For that, I've used Epson Matte finish paper with very good results.
The photos printed on HP glossy photo paper have just blown me away. The detail in the 8X10 is wonderful, much better than I would have expected.
My only problem is with the 4X6 photo paper with the tab. The documentation with the paper says to put the tab in first, the printer says tab toward you. Not a big deal, but it did cause my first 4X6 to print on the tab.
