Pros: Outstanding picture quality.
Cons: TV Power on light does not stay lit.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended. The color fidelity and DVD picture is truly a sight to behold. It is also a beautiful set to look at.

This is the set I chose over Toshiba, Panasonic, and Pioneer. The single most important factor was the color fidelity and clarity of the image. I primarily watch DVD's and coupled with the Pioneer Elite 37 the picture is staggering in its ability to deliver an almost HDTV like image. Toy Story and other true digitally produced movies look incredible. Conversely, such well made movies as Planet of the Apes and The Fifth Element (SuperBit) are conveyed in such a manner that can leave you breathless.
The set does have its faults though. The top of the set might be too narrow for some center speakers. My speaker sits ok on top but others may not. (I used to like to display some of my DVD collection on the top of my stereo cabinet). Secondly, the power on light does not stay lit. This caused a big problem for me at first until I made sure all my components powered down together. I called Sony 3 times on this and they stated this was normal. I still do not like this idea though. Lastly, for those of you who have DSS be prepared for a less than perfect picture until you actually get used to the set. It may not necessarily be the fault of the set itself but more to do with source material. I have been watching the Olympics since day one and while the picture is not of HiDef quality it is nonetheless quite brilliant much of the time. After spending a month with this set I am quite content with it. I do not yet have a HDTV tuner but have seen this set with HDTV material and it is in my opinion a match for any other big screen RPTV out there.
