Horrible Reception

I bought this phone because my mother has a Uniden and receives wonderful reception with it. I needed a new phone, and I found this one for about $30.00. I had been looking to upgrade, my last cordless was a 900 mhz. Unfortunately I was disappointed from the start. It sounded as though I were talking into a tin can, my mother tried it & agreed. I live in a very small apartment so I am never far from the base, but I easily lose reception, getting static if I simply move my head from side to side. I have to find a spot in my apartment & stay there. I also have trouble hearing people sometimes, even when I raise the volume. All that said, the phone itself is easy to use and if it weren't for the reception, I would love it. I am currently shopping around for a new phone.
