Pros: Viable alternative to an "IBM" machine running MS Office; probably more stable.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: If you need to balance working with MS Office at the office and you love the ease of use of a MAC, this is the computer to buy.

To begin with, I have owned nothing but Apple/Mac computers for the last 20 years. At work I have used only MS based computers yet at home I have always used Apple/MACs. My work and that of my wife's was causing us to bring home work. A conversion program allow some simple WORD documents to be opened in APLLEWORKS but you always lost something; fonts, alignment, bold, etc. We had numerous discussions about finally buying an "IBM" machine.
As one last effort I brought a CD from my work with EXCEL files, powerpoint files and Word files home. We took the CD to the nearest Apple Store and inserted the CD to see if the IMAC 17in would open the files. The IMAC we were using had MS Office for MAC OS X installed. As you might guess the IMAC opened the all the types of files without any problems. In the powerpoint slides all the titles and graphics were opened without any problems, in fact they were opened faster than at my work.
That sealed the deal; we bought a 17 in IMAC with RAM upgraded to 512 MB and both APPLEWORKS and MS Office for MAC installed. That was 2 1/2 months ago and the IMAC has performed flawlessly. My only difficulty has been establishing a network with a 4 year old IMAC running 9.2. I have upgraded the old IMAC to OS 10.3 and it runs fine albeit a little slower that the newer 17 in IMAC
For those of you who cannot part with your MACs but yet use an "IBM" machine at work for normal everyday office stuff the newest IMAC with Office installed is the way to go.
In the time that I have had the new IMAC it has not crashed or frozen on me once; that's great.
