What can I say about this item? Half gig of storage, built in mic for voice recording, line jack for direct MP3 coding plus a FM tuner and you can record what is playing on the tuner. All this for 299.99.
Now for some history. I was looking for another MP3 device. After doing my research I noticed that Iriver products got great reviews from the tech sites and here at Epinions.com. Orginally I was looking at the napster player I really like the ability to record the device however just about everyone gave the Napster player bad reviews and complained it was complicated, I hate windows media player so I passed.
This little unit runs on one AA Battery and I've gotten about 20 hours or so out of this device. It even comes packaged with a battery mine was not some no name battery either it was a Durcell.
The bundled software is easy to install and use simply drag and drop your file on to this player. It is USB 2.0 compliant and 1.0 backwards compatiable. I am running window XP and have had NO trouble with the device or software at all! Even while running napster 2.0 in the background streaming music. The hardest thing about this player is figuring out how to attach the neck strap.
The ear buds that come with the device are ok, they will do but I personally would get a better pair but not nessary. This unit has great sound and has differnt preset EQ's which do the trick nicely. However, you can set the EQ the way you want it in the Extreme EQ.
I highly recommend this item to anyone who wants a flash type MP3 player. this device also supports the dredded WMA file as well...
