Pros: user-friendly, unique (eye-catching) design, decent capacity
Cons: non-upgradable memory
The Bottom Line: I've been really impressed with iRiver so far and would buy from them again. I'd recommend springing for the iRiver iHP-120, since it has a HUGE capacity.

I've enjoyed using this player and love the armband strap, included case, and the intuitive menus. This thing is simple to use and I've been MUCH happier with it than I was with the Samsung YP-55, which is a weird design, is heavy, and even though it's bulky, still felt poor quality.
The iRiver has an easy navigation button, once you get the hang of it. The screen is easy to read at night, since it's blue. Playlist option is great. Runs for a while on one battery - even has an option to adjust the device for a rechargeable battery or a regular one.
It's software is a little redundant: I got two different programs which essentially do the same things. It's confusing and one of the programs screwed up my WinAmp player on my laptop...
The iRiver was recommended by a Best Buy salesman, who had one himself. I'm glad I talked to him, because I'd brought the Samsung back to get something better.
I'd recommend this one to anyone looking for an affordable way to bring 50 or 60 songs along somewhere. Perfect for biking, skiing, walks, or you can use a wireless audio adapter to run it in your car (http://shop1.outpost.com/product/3630385).
I'm hoping to move to the iRiver iHP-120 soon, though...
