| lorusso's Full Review: Sun Devil Stadium |
Sun Devil Stadium, built in 1958, in Tempe Arizona is home to two football teams. You can either watch the Arizona State Sun Devils, or you can see a home game for the NFL's Arizona Cardinals.
The stadium itself is nice, not fancy, not state of the art, but just plain nice. The field is gorgeous, and the surface is nice safe grass.
If you attend any game in the stadium, you will have an easy time getting in. There are no bad neighborhoods to roll your windows up as you pass through, there are no homeless people trying to wash your windows at a stop light. If you think these elements are a must, then Sun Devil Stadium is not for you.
When you talk about a stadium, you have to mention atmosphere. If you go to a ASU Sun Devil football game on Friday or Saturday night, you will be surrounded by 40,000 college kids, and 20,000 alumni. Wearing their gold shirts, you will be innundated by the sea of yellow, which is sure to surround you. This is the way to experience a hot Arizona night, with 60,000 crazed fans.
On the other hand, if you want to attend an Arizona Cardinal game, you will find more of a mixed crowd. When you fail to produce on the field, the fans will let you know it by booing, or not buying tickets. Since it is an NFL game, you will have more people divided over their favorite team (you always see a lot of last year's Superbowl winner, bandwagon).
Sun Devil Stadium has been upgraded throughout the years, and it performed very well when it hosted Superbowl XXX.
