Overall good airline

Pros: Flights were on time, water bottle for economy and comfortable seats.
Cons: Bathrooms were a bit untidy but acceptable. The male crew needs to learn their manners.

When I saw all the negative reviews for Air India, I hesitated about buying round trip tickets from NY-Delhi, Mumbai-NY. Since we were on a tight on my budget, Air India offered the lowest fare in December 2008. All my flights were on time. The planes for my routes were in very good condition. Indian food was pretty good and everyone in economy had a small bottle of water on their seats. Not much of a movie selections but that didn't matter. Usually I would book night flights so I can sleep through the night. I've found the the neck pillows (inflatable kind) are the best to support neck for sleeping on board.
Only one incident bothered me. My fiance was sitting next to me and he was asked by a male flight attendant what he wanted for dinner. Without asking me at all, he assumed I should take the same meal and placed it on my tray table. What just happened here?! I'm a grown woman and he just assumed that I should eat whatever my fiance eats without asking me! Other than this incident, the crew provided ok service.
