Lie to customer to get their business

Pros: They have NONE!
Cons: Blatant lies/misrepresentations to induce you onto their carrier and miserable customer service.
The Bottom Line: Unless you enjoy being lied to and treated with no respect, stay away from this airline

We have flown this airline to Costa Rica many times and their seating assignments and customer service are a complete disaster. In 2004, they insisted our 3 MONTH old daughter be seated away from us. Because of this, when making reservations this year, I specifically asked if they could guarantee and confirm seats together. The agent said of course they could and guaranteed seats together throughout the entire trip. I informed the agent if he wasn't able to do this, we would fly on another carrier. Based upon this representation, we made the reservations. This was just one of many blatant lies. They fraudulently deceived us into believing we had confirmed and guaranteed seats to get us to fly on their carrier. Each leg of the trip, we had to fight and beg for seats together so that our 15 month old daughter wasn't in the hands of some stranger during the flight! Forget about a parent having to be separated from their infant child (who by the way was paying full fare even through Grupo Taca's own written policy is to allow children under 2 to fly at 75% of an adult fare which they refused to give us), imagine another passenger having to travel next to and babysit a 15 month old because Grupo Taca agents knowingly lie and misrepresent policy to its passengers to get them to travel on their airline! Anyone flying to Costa Rica should check out America West!
